The Discipleship Training School - DTS is the gateway to enter in YWAM and at the University of the Nations (UofN) in YWAM (Visit: www.uofn.edu).
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intensive Christian course beginning with 12 weeks lecture/teaching phase followed by 12 weeks practical field assignment The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character, development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God. Mercy Ministries
If you believe it, you have to live it. YWAM Mercy Ministry teams follow Jesus’ example of compassion to those in need.
We operate relief and development programs in many villages in the rural areas and unreached places in Madagascar, working among people living in desperate circumstances. This clinic is called “LOVING CARE CLINIC". It has been built through the help of a Korean organization. It Started on November 2006, and used to run every Wednesday at the beginning were a doctor is able to receive in patience and do health care training but often people come at any hour to find treatment. Medical plants are cultivated helping to lower costs and model holistic healthcare. We value the existence of the clinic, so that people will not get only We serve in areas such as agricultural assistance, health care, micro enterprise development and with women and children at risk.
Our goal is to ease suffering and provide hope for those affected by poverty, disease or injustice healing from the doctors but also search and find JESUS AS A GREAT HEALER From 2009, it started to have a small team to go to village to villages in the rural area and to unreached places as well. At the moment, the clinic opens and able to receive sick people every day. People can find treatment for general disease, dental care, eyes checking, and small surgery. Also, run training for the trainers from the local staffs and from the rural areas of Madagascar.
We use to make a medical outreach to the rural areas and to the unreached places of Madagascar once a month. |
Convey - outreach opportunity
When working in other cultures and among people of other faiths, Christ’s message of peace is our starting point. We believe everyone has the right to hear this message and our hope is to see fellowships of believers, worshipping and following Jesus in every nation, tribe and tongue.
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” was Jesus last words to His disciples. We at YWAM House of the Nations would like to create that opportunity by inviting you to bring an outreach team to Madagascar and specifically to the House of the Nations YWAM Base. We would love to host your outreach team andprovide opportunities to reach out to the community and surrounding areas, especially to the rural areas and the unreached places of Madagascar. Madagascar, like the rest of Africa is faced with many challenges; these include poverty, job creation, health care etc. The most important though is the need for people to hear and experience the gospel of Jesus Christ and to experience His love. Further, bringing a holistic development for the whole person’ life. There are many opportunities in many different areas. There are many opportunities to do an outreach here at the base and its surrounding; especially to the rural communities and unreached places we want to bring the Gospel and transformation. Some areas of opportunities: Construction building, ministry to the children, youth and widows ministry, visiting houses, church ministry, going to the unreached rural communities, school activities and ministry,... We can organize your outreach ministry at the base and to the rural areas of Madagascar. Are you willing to be part of Gods healing to this nation? For more information and opportunities please contact us. |
School with a Mission - education
Raising up a new Generation.
The school is called "SCHOOL WITH A MISSION. It Started on September 2004 with 3 students and two teachers. Then it grows up step by step by its level every year. A primary school has been established to create a high standard of education which is open to those even from the very poor background. The secondary school has already built as well the first high school class which is just running this year as it grows by its level every year. We believe that everyone is made in the image of God and has a destiny to fulfill in His Kingdom. Yet we recognize that many children at risk, robbing them of dignity, respect, and the opportunity to grow up knowing the love of God, learning and fulfilling their God-given destiny. We are engaged in a battle for the lives of children and youth especially in the rural communities, and we are employing opportunities for the local people from the villages have been created through the school.
Our objective is to rise a new generation in the school. Not just to have successful students with degree and license but also making them as priority to grow in good character and the love of God. Students, teachers and parents are meant to follow up a regular training to reach the goal together. We are welcoming those who are ready to participate in that battle. |
Unreached ProjectAsafotra and Ambohimandroso are two of the unreached places in Madagascar. These villages are the end of the province of Antananarivo (Capital of Madagascar) from the east and the beginning of the East coast. Most of the people are from the East-south of Madagascar and moved to these villages during the colonization’ persecution in 1947.
PIONEERING: There were 4 people (3 Malagasy guys, and 1 American guy), pioneering the end of March 2009. We made one day of journey to reach the villages; and only walking is the way to get there. Imagine that these villages are more than 100 years old. Anybody from the government visited them; we were the first guests that they welcomed. Most of the people were scared of us and hiding in their house being closed. The chief of the village also were very afraid of us... AREAS OF LIFE: Education: Only Public primary school established there, just 3 years ago. None of the children goes to secondary school when they finished the primary school because it takes more than 6 hours for a walk from the village to find secondary school. The school has only 2 rooms and each room takes 3 classes every day with only 2 local teachers. Church: There is no church in the 2 villages. We were the first organization that visited them. People have to walk about 7 hours to find church. Consequently, they practice idols and worship on the hills and to the waterfall. They believe what the chief of the Tangalamena (the head of the village) says and everyone have to follow. People have never heard the gospel. Health: No hospital or doctor. People have to walk more than 7 hours to find treatment. In fact, they go to witch doctor whose are also the most respectful in the village to find treatment, and they practice traditional way to treat disease instead of going for a walk. Population: The population is around 1.700 but 50% of them are children. People plant a lot of sugar-cane to produce a very strong Malagasy Alcohol (which is illegal), to make survive. Also they plant a lot of rice, tobacco, and farming a lot of cows. Most of the children up to 6 years are starting to eat tobacco for tooth-pain treatment. They start to get married from 16 years old. People do not know how to use toilet, so none of them have toilet. Richesse: We saw that the villages are rich. You can still see big forest surrounding the villages which you can find the wild animals. There is also a Gem-stone in some areas, the big waterfall, the precious beautiful people longing for transformation, the green hills and valley, a lot of river and rock, ... CALL TO ALL: The people in Asafotra and Ambohimandroso are longing for transformation in their life. We all know that it is in God’s heart to reach the unreached. So; you are very welcome to join us in what can you participate to fulfill the mission. Do we wait for the witch-doctors? Or Muslims, or the non-Christian?... Let us be involved and participate with the mission for the unreached people groups and the rural villages in Madagascar. Let the “LOVE” motivates us to do something. |
Tent making and support raising
The aim of tent making and support raising is to help local people surrounding the base by using the first local products that exist in the community. 67% of the people from the villages are looking for a job in the city which is 20km away from the village where the base is. People get salary $3 maximum a day and have to walk for 3 hours minimum for one way to go to town. We use the 40% of the benefits of the production to support the base’ ministry and the staffs.

Renewable energy and clean water
This is a project that we felt that God is leading us to show God’s love to the people in the rural areas of Madagascar and also to bring transformation in their life.
This is one of the effective way to reach the rural community to the Gospel. The Government is challenging such as an organization, association, or NGO,… to work with this project. YWAM "House of the Nations" is being part of that. The goal is to provide 3 wells a year and 3 wind turbine for clean water and electricity. Jesus is the “LIGHT” and the "LIVING WATER". |
